The Association of Convenience and Fuel Retailing (NACS) is an international trade association representing more than 2,100 retail and 1,600 supplier company members who interact with its online presence at nacsonline.com.
NACS provides industry knowledge, connections and advocacy to ensure the competitive viability of its members' through services such as NACS Magazine, a member-only benefit providing the latest news in convenience and fuel retailing.
Prior to working with Unleashed Technologies and its creative partner, Bates Creative, NACS Magazine’s online presence was constrained within the main site, limiting its capabilities and scalability as an industry news provider. Its outdated user interface suffered from text-heavy paragraphs, bland design, and unresponsive landing pages that deterred visitor engagement. More importantly, NACS wanted to streamline its workflow processes in creating, publishing, distributing, monetizing, and analyzing content. Lastly, NACS wanted to create a more native mobile experience for its magazine.
In an effort to modernize, revitalize, and enhance its online presence, NACS turned to the web development experts at Unleashed Technologies to create a separate web presence for NACS Magazine and deliver an engaging, content rich experience for its members.
Unleashed Technologies built a dynamic new web presence for NACS Magazine that captured the distinct design of the print magazine. As part of this process, Unleashed Technologies worked closely with NACS to migrate their magazine content to a separate entity built on Drupal 7, an open source content management platform that provides the capabilities and scalability it needs to power a high-traffic website. As an enterprise-class CMS, Drupal 7 is a highly customizable solution with a focus on providing a responsive, mobile-first design for publishers.
The new nacsmagazine.com now features:
An InDesign XML Importer: NACS' content managers can seamlessly push web content to the Adobe Experience Manager Mobile app
Drupal 7 CMS: an enterprise-class CMS allowing NACS to easily integrate with publisher applications
Single Sign-On Capability: NACS' members are now able to carry their NACS' credentials across to the Magazine site
A New Web Presence: NACS Magazine is no longer confined within the main site, providing an engaging, content rich experience for its members
Responsive Design: flexible content delivery to any device for enhanced accessibility and visibility
Following the launch of the Drupal 7 site, NACS Magazine’s dynamic new web presence has increased membership engagement with a clean responsive design that can be reached on all devices and an easy-to-use interface.
The new NACS Magazine website provides a platform for advertisers to expand their reach, and to act as an enhanced revenue source for NACS.
Unleashed Technologies strengthened NACS Magazine’s online presence as an industry news provider and streamlined its workflow process, allowing content managers to push content from the InDesign XML Importer to the website to Adobe DPS. With the new InDesign XML Importer, NACS' content managers can upload an entire issue of articles, and seamlessly push this web content to the Adobe Experience Manager Mobile app. This ability provides consistency for both the web and digital version of the magazine and yields a more native mobile experience for the magazine.
