Communicator Awards

The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA) recently announced winners of the 2017 Communicator Awards of Distinction, and Unleashed is proud to have been named a winner for its work on the Supernus Pharmaceuticals website initiative. The Award of Distinction is presented for projects that exceed industry standards in quality and achievement. Unleashed earned recognition in the categories of Websites: Pharmaceuticals and Features: User Interface.

Supernus Pharmaceuticals (Supernus), a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing products for the treatment of central nervous system (CNS) diseases, engaged with Unleashed to build an open source, user-friendly website. Unleashed worked closely with Supernus to migrate content from Drupal 7 to the newly released Drupal 8 content management system for more advanced integrations and control in bringing the web presence to life for a user.

Some of the new features include:

  • a 200% reduction in site load speed that results in higher retention rates for visitors
  • HTML flats for a responsive design while placing emphasis on usability
  • an integrated investor relations site to provide live stock ticker information for visitors
  • heightened flexibility and performance in front-end design via Angular.js Framework

Following the launch of the new website in June 2016, site users now experience a more intuitive, accessible, and responsive design. The Supernus site provides easy user navigation to the most desired sections and proper text length for easy scanning and readability, allowing visitors to find what they want quickly within each page. By using the latest workflow applications, the new Supernus.com experiences increased visibility and user traffic making it an effective tool for communicating with all Supernus’ stakeholders.

Methodology

All winners for The Communicator Awards are hand-selected by the AIVA (Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts), an invitation-only group consisting of top-tier professionals from acclaimed media, communications, advertising, creative and marketing firms. AIVA members include executives from organizations such as Airtype Studio, Big Spaceship, Conde Nast, Coach, Disney, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Estee Lauder, Fry Hammond Barr, Lockheed Martin, MTV Networks, Pitney Bowes, rabble+rouser, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Time, Inc, Victoria’s Secret, Wired, and Yahoo!

Winning entries for The Communicator Awards are selected by the AIVA to uphold our commitment to fairness and merit-based achievement. This ensures each entry is afforded equal chance of winning an award, as all entries are judged to evaluate distinction in creative work. In determining Excellence and Distinction Winners, entries are judged based on a standard of excellence in marketing and communications. Judging is based purely on quality of craft, so sometimes a category may have multiple winners, or none at all. Entries are scored on a 100 point scale by the judges. Generally, Excellence Winners receive a score of 90 or above and Distinction Winners receive a score of 70 to 89.
