1. What is your role at Unleashed Technologies?

I’m honored to help lead a team of developers here at Unleashed Technologies with Tim McNerney, our project manager.

2. How did you connect with Unleashed Technologies and what made it a good fit?

I briefly met a few esteemed representatives from UT several years ago at a Drupal Conference. I reached out in spring of 2019 and found a vibrant community of developers here. I really enjoy working here, and I enjoy using some of the latest tech to speed the delivery of high-quality products.

3. What client solution are you most proud of and why?

I’d say some of our tooling and automated quality assurance solutions are fantastic examples of ways we optimize development processes for all our clients. Software development can be a slow process and the more we streamline essential tasks that must be repeated, the faster we’re able to deliver essential client features.

4. Where do you go to learn new code or technology tips?

I primarily assist with Drupal site development and frequently refer to articles on, Drupalize.Me, & The “Talking Drupal” podcast is also a great way to stay in the know. I also work on Symfony projects and utilize

5. Are there any certifications you plan to get in 2021?

At this time, I am continuing Symfony research efforts and will likely attain a couple related certifications this year. I am also working to build my React knowledge as that framework continues to gain popularity.

6. What is your favorite project right now and why?

My favorite project these days is a Drupal 9 site migration we’re working on which is expected to be released later this year. The Drupal ecosystem is becoming very stable and predictable again. Drupal’s media capabilities are very impressive. I’m excited to see some of the new features become available in the future, particularly features related to the Automated Updates Initiative.

7. What advice do you have for someone who is new to the Drupal CMS?

Keep in mind that Drupal is a powerful, complex system of interconnected systems. To identify the root cause of a problem, it is very important to first identify the few systems that are likely causing the problem. This helps reduce the overall scope of research required and will likely reduce debugging time.

8. What is your favorite part of working at Unleashed?

The culture! We have many different priorities & deadlines that we must meet. Our team works hard & stays positive even when the work gets harder! I'm truly honored to work with such a great group of people.

9. What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?

I have many hobbies, such as circuit board design, renewable energy system config, house renovations/automation, gardening, and traveling. My favorite day off though would be a day that includes off-roading, hiking, and kayaking or sailing.

10. What's the best joke you've ever heard?

I’m not sure if I can name the best joke I’ve ever heard, but I certainly can say I really enjoy the comedy of Brian Regan. Totally hilarious!

11. What's the phone app you use most?

Easy. YouTube. There is a vast wealth of STEM-related DIY knowledge on YouTube. Some of my favorite channels there include:
