Tulkoff Food Products is a widely popular Baltimore-based food manufacturer and a family-owned and operated business with more than 90 years of experience developing and selling delicious products. As a manufacturing firm that demonstrates the ability to evolve and grow with technology, Tulkoff Food’s Marketing Director Angela Guss will participate as a panelist in the upcoming panel event “Determining the Right Web Presence for Manufacturers” hosted by Unleashed Technologies, Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MDMEP), and Think.
Tulkoff Food manufactures a variety of food products specializing in providing sauces, condiments, and dressings to restaurants all over the nation. The other half of their business is co-manufacturing where they often produce food products for major brands that are then sold in grocery stores all over the globe. Through 90 years in business, Tulkoff has made many technological changes in the pursuit of digital transformation.
In the first in a series of interviews with panelists, President Philip Tulkoff sat down with Unleashed President Michael Spinosa to discuss the many changes that have occurred during his 17-year tenure at the company. During that time, the company went from an office with zero desktops, no email communication, and an outdated website to a fully integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, a robust website, and real-time communication via email.
Tulkoff continues to update its digital resources as technology is always evolving and moving forward. The commitment from Tulkoff leadership to incorporate and grow with technology has allowed them to maintain and build on their success over the years. For example, using their website and other technologies they were able to make a line of specific Tulkoff brand foods that makes up 1 to 2 percent of their business. Since this is an unplanned and marginal source of revenue Tulkoff donates 100 percent of the funds to two veteran charities: Operation Ward 57 and Valor Service Dogs.
