Unleashed Technologies, LLC is excited to announce its recent move to our brand new facility in Columbia, MD. The move represents a large expansion from roughly 1,400 sq. ft. to 4,500 sq. ft. Our new office is located at 10005 Old Columbia Road, Suite L-261, Columbia, MD 21046. We made our move to accomodate the growth that we've had over the past 12 months to continue expanding our team of unrivaled experts in the fields of web and hosting.

 It's that time of year again where everyone gathers together to have an end of year gathering.

I think it's only appropriate that I start this blog post with thanking everyone for a terrific event at Ram's Head Live at the Power Plant in Baltimore, MD. As expected it was an event to remember still leaving the Greater Baltimore Technology Council's Technite as the premier event for the area with regards to technology based firms. If you were at the event you'll remember we we're giving away some technology prizes that represented the best in both personal and professional aspects of life. So the following winners are being announced.

Unleashed Technologies has signed on as a sponsor for the 2010 TechNite event, which is being hosted this year at Rams Head Live. In previous years, the event was held at the Baltimore Convention Center, but a venue change was made based on the feedback of all the attendees over the past three years. The event focuses on the tremendous success that Baltimore has had in the technology corridor over the past year.

The landscape of open source and the available technologies continues to change on a monthly (if not daily) basis. Trying to keep track of it all can be a bit overwhelming as you'll quickly run into an unbelievable amount of solution offerings that are free for your continuing development and site management. Unlike many other sectors of technology the web continues to be evolving so fast that all solutions are not created equal with small differences to focus on particular functionality or business verticals.

In our line of work, we see a ton of terrific ideas and usually hear very standardized messaging around them. It usually follows a consistent tune of "We're looking to get a working prototype as proof of concept" or "We don't have much budget so we're getting quotes to get investors interested.".

As everyone moves to the web regardless of industry we quickly learn that there is a very big difference between trying to get contact or conversion for a service company soliciting business to business solutions and a business to consumer company trying to convert on product. When you're selling to consumers it's typically an easier conversion process as the price entry for whatever you may be offering is substantially lower than selling services to a business.

It's been a long time since the model of Software As A Service (SaaS) hit the scene and you'll hear many split opinions on it based on business philosophy, personal experience of successes/failures. When looking at this subject you need a particular pair of lenses for it to make sense.
