Background

Since 1978, BIOCON has provided specialized, outsourced preclinical research services to government, military, bio-pharmaceutical, medical device, chemical and consumer products clients located throughout the United States. Our highly-trained research support team has expertise in animal holding and breeding, small-animal model development, acute, subacute and subchronic toxicity testing, vaccine development, product safety testing and animal disease diagnostic services.

Challenge

Biocon, Inc has been in business since 1979 providing expert level services in pre-clinical trials and facilities to it's clients. After 30+ years in business Biocon, Inc was in need of professional branding work and a portal for providing their current clients/visitors access to key information. Biocon, Inc had an outdated website with older content that didn't match the services currently being offered. Some of the challenges of the old site included:

• An Outdated Professional Image
• Non-compliant Web Standards Website
• No Focus on Differentiators
• Design Not Targeted to Correct Audience

After consultation Unleashed Technologies, LLC was selected as the vendor of choice to help bring Biocon, Inc current utilizing modern web design and technology.

Solution

Unleashed Technologies, LLC started by meeting with the Biocon, Inc team in order to figure out the goals for the new website and how a return on investment could be best realized. The decisions to focus on a couple major areas included access to resources, a secure portal for current clients, a professional image that matched the success of the organization, and key messaging highlight the differentiators of the Biocon, Inc facilities.

Unleashed Technologies, LLC proposed consultation for creating a new consistent design that would help Biocon, Inc target doctors looking to perform studies. A strong emphasis would be place on the ability for these individuals to be able to perform there own testing which is uncommon within the trial services industry. The website would also be built for future functionality utilizing a content management system that had an additional focus on document control and sharing. To do this Biocon, Inc would utilize DotNetNuke.

Implementation

Our implementation phase started with understanding the business and target market of Biocon, Inc. Unleashed Technologies then moved directly into producing two disctinctly different design sets based of the consultation and information gathered from meetings spent with the staff. From their a design was selected, revisions we're made, and content generation began refreshing the message of Biocon, Inc.

Necessary CMS development took place as the website was created using best practices and deploying a W3C compliant website for best search engine results and to ensure that individuals at government agencies would be able to view the website even on a machine with very restricted viewing capabilities.
