Background

PureDiscovery, a software company based in Dallas Texas, is reinventing the art of semantic search by harnessing collective intelligence. PureDiscovery is the creator of KnowledgeGraph, an intelligent software platform that transforms an organization’s documents into a working collective intelligence. PureDiscovery KnowledgeGraph semantically connects people and knowledge in ways and on a scale that simply was not possible before. Markets served include Legal, Human Capital Management, HomeLand Security / Defense, and Intellectual Property.

Challenge

PureDiscovery needed to develop an easy to use tool that helped find about how experts in different verticals defined key terms for their respective fields. The web application would facilitate upon a "search" of a  key term a list of other related keywords in which experts could define which were relevant and which we're not. This data would be collected and stored in what was referred to as "brains" that specialized in helping feed the primary product of PureDiscovery on providing better search results for specific clients that may use common words in a different context returning more accurate results. The web application needed to be scalable, flexible, and offer an intuitive interface that allowed the end user to easily make grading decisions based on the returned results.

In order to further remove any loading or troubling inconveniences upon grading the web application would need to auto save results without continually prompting the user to save. This would allow for large batches of keywords to be graded at once eliminating wasted time. Finally, once data was collected the information collected from the system would communicate with PureDiscovery's primary product via XML to update new definitions and findings.

Solution

In order for Unleashed Technologies, LLC to deploy this web application successfully a comprehensive grading structure would be created in order to make sure information returned from BrainQuiz worked correctly with the core of PureDiscovery's technology. Because of the complex grading structure Unleashed Technologies, LLC would use a thumbs up meter which would slide across a scale that represented "cold" to "hot". Cold terms being the least relevant and hot terms being the most accurate for items they felt were relevant.

The system would also allow for previous searches to be reviewable and enable the end clients to further adjust there answers later based on extended consideration. As terms we're continually defined the information would need to be communicated back to PureDiscovery for digestion, scrubbin, and then insertion to they're over all results.

Unleashed Technologies, LLC would utilize a Microsoft platform in both programming/database technology to bring the web application software to fruition. In order to meet the ease of use that clients were expecting Unleashed Technologies, LLC utilized AJAX to limit load times, create a single responsive interface, and offer a well organized and aesthetically pleasing experience.
