Continuing from part one of Creating the ultimate non-profit solution using Drupal and CiviCRM, this tutorial will cover using the main civiEvents, civiMember and civiContribute. To manage your non profit better using drupal.

Creating a Membership type

  • The first thing that needs to be done is creating a membership type to do this go to Administer > CiviMember > Membership Types  and then chose new membership.
  • Fill out all the fields selecting the most appropriate settings. I suggest making a general membership organization before beginning as you will need an organization to associate with the contribution.  If you need more information on
  • setting up the membership types more information can be found here  http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC32/Membership+Types

Creating Contribution and Membership Collection Pages

  • To begin collecting contributions you need to create a contribution page which is done by going to Administer > CiviContribute > Manage Contribution Pages and selecting New Contribution Page
  • Fill Out the Title and Settings section and the Contribution Amounts section you can enable predefined amounts or enable users to enter their own amounts.
  • Optionally select enable the Membership section if you want this page to handle membership collection.  You can use one collection page to collect contributions and memberships or you can create separate pages to handle both.
  • Fill out any additional sections that you want to include in you contribution page and save the settings.
  • To include your contribution page in your Drupal site from the civiCRM administration menu select Administer CiviCRM > Configure Contribution Pages and select Configure for the page you want to include.  The URL of the page can be found on the page Example: http://www.example.org/drupal/civicrm/contribute/transact?reset=1&id=1 you can link to this page anywhere on your site.
