Over the course of the past year Unleashed Technologies, LLC has been very fortunate to grow during these tough economic times. As the chief executive officer of our company I can tell you with much certainty that if it weren't for some of the terrific peer groups I partake in, the story could have been much different. As many of you know I'm very active in the Greater Baltimore Technology Council (GBTC) which is the regions top technical council serving the tech community of Baltimore as much more than a hub for networking but providing amazing resources, programs, and opportunities.

One of the groups I belong to is an "Emerging Companies" Roundtable group that meets once a month at the ETC Building off of Boston Street. As an individual I'm honored to be in the group and can't express the amount of support, advice, and friendship I get from fellow executives in helping make sure that Unleashed Technologies stays on the correct path. I wanted to put a post up and recognize the members of the group in 2009 (hopefully many more to come) and how Unleashed Technologies as a whole is thankful for their continual support. As a value add back I wanted to give a small background to each individual and the companies they represent.

John (Yair's Partner) and I met in 2001 - we were both CS majors at Johns Hopkins and both played on the club rugby team. Four years later we started SmartLogic. When it comes to user interfaces, I like it clean, simplistic and functional. When it comes to applications, I like software that is user-friendly while serving the needs of the organization that is paying for the software. I grew up in Columbus, Ohio. My father, ???? ??????, is a mathematician. My mother, geni Cymru, teaches ESL. I have an older brother (lawyer in NYC), younger brother (undergrad at UChicago) and younger sister (in high school). I like to travel and see new places.

James Brenza

Personal Bio:

Since 1990, President and Chief Executive Officer James M. Brenza has led the formation of GP Solutions, Inc., which provides plant and facility level information systems to the industrial and public sectors. The company develops, markets and supports GP MaTe™ software, a leading computerized maintenance management system.

GP Solutions is the successor to the assets, customers and key personnel of the General Physics Corporation’s Information Systems Division, which Brenza directed for five years. There he was responsible for directing the development, marketing and sales of the various software products and services, including the Plant Equipment Management (PEM) software package, a plant maintenance and industrial accounting system for Comerint, Inc., and a labor accounting and work request tracking system for Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation.

Brenza has an M.S. in radiation biology and biophysics from the University of Rochester, and a B.S. and M.S. in physics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Company Focus:

GP Solutions is the provider of the GP MaTe Enterprise Asset Management software system.  GP MaTe is used by operators of equipment systems, such as power plants, chemical plants and manufacturing concerns, to ensure that their equipment operates as designed and to reduce any impacts on production that might be caused by equipment failures.  The software product manages both work orders, required to perform preventive, predictive or corrective maintenance actions, as well as to control spare parts inventory (inventory control, purchasing, receiving, etc.) in support of maintenance activities.  GP MaTe is installed at over 800 plant sites world-wide.
